| History - For over 11 years Westwind Solar has been installing Photovoltaic “Solar Electric” and Wind Turbine “Wind Electric” Systems and Equipment in Arizona. In 1999 Daniel Snyder teamed up with Kevin Concagh to install off-grid systems for “Ranches” and “Remote Homes”. At this time “Grid-Tie PV” was virtually non-existent and almost all PV Solar and Wind Systems were “stand alone/off grid”. Converting ranch electrical power systems from “Diesel Generators” to PV and Wind Systems got us started and built our reputation and experience. Working also in Sonora, Mexico we installed PV/Wind Water Pumping Systems in many applications in the “middle of nowhere” where our design/install had to be tough and vandal-proof. Through the years we have provided ongoing service to many “off-grid” homes & ranches including the McDonald Land and Cattle Company, San Rafael Ranch and the Agua Blanca Ranch. In 2003 new PV interconnect technology and Electric Utility acceptance got us involved with installing “Grid Tie” PV Solar Electric Systems. As grid-tie technology has become more efficient and affordable, and rebates/tax credits more abundant, this has become the primary utilization of PV and Wind Renewable Energy. However, we are still the largest “Off-Grid” System Installer in the State of Arizona. Mission –We are a small “local” company based in Tucson. Renewable Energy Technology is our passion, and providing quality design, “state of the art” equipment and a “robust” installation is our mission. We take great care to design/install systems that are carefully integrated into the specific application, utilizing professional structural, mechanical and electrical engineering into all of our installs. We care about our customers and have been, and will be, “around” to provide service and support. Having seen an explosion of new “local” and “out of state” competitors in Arizona the past 6 years getting into the biz to make money, we are dead serious to be the best and offer the most efficient technology to our customers.
